Polong

Polong is Malay for a spirit enslaved by a man (most of the time) for personal use. Like the Hantu Raya and Toyol, it has a master. It is an unseen ghost that can be used by a black magic practitioner to harm someone. It is particularly meant to harm other people, especially when the owner has wicked intentions towards these people.

Ara's Tree

Ara's Tree or in Malay "Pokok Kayu Ara" is a huge tree where you can only find it in the jungle or if you lucky enough you can find this tree grows near your house. The skin is usually reddish and it has big branches and twigs. They believed this tree is haunted because of its big size and its long roots. If you stand near the tree, you can see the branches are like human hands that could twine around you if you stand close to the tree. It is to be said haunted because once you climb the tree, you can never go down. Old folks say the tree was haunted because ghosts lived there. Actually I don't know the English word or scientific word for this tree.
